Countdown

Hello! Hej!

Welcome to our wedding website! We’ve done our best to collect all the information you could need in the drop down menu below, please have a click through and let us know if there’s anything we’ve forgotten!

We’re so excited to celebrate with you!

June 5th 2025. The ceremony will be at 11am 12.30 pm.

Lartington Hall, Lartington Lane, Barnard Castle, DL12 9BW

Airports – Edinburgh (recommended for frequency for flights and ease of accessibility to car hire and trains), Manchester (a good alternative depending on flight times), Newcastle or Tees Valley (the closest airports with connecting flights not infrequently from both London and Amsterdam Schiphol), London airports (not sure why you would but there’s some airports down South too I guess).

Trains – Durham and Darlington stations are on the East Coast Mainline with direct connections to Edinburgh and London. If arriving from Manchester you will likely need to change at York from a Cross-Country service. Please note that while the train stations are relatively close they are not walking distance from the venue and busses are infrequent/non-existent to Lartington Hall. Please let us know if you are arriving by train so we can put you in contact with others planning on doing the same for organisation of taxis/potentially car-sharing from another guest.

Driving – Recommended in order to take in the scenic views of the Durham Dales. A map will be uploaded with route options closer to the time.

Lartington Hall/Courtyard – At the request of the venue, these rooms have already been allocated to family members and members of the bridal party. If you are interested in any continuing availability let us know as soon as possible. Prices range from: £180-340 depending on room/number of beds. Some rooms have the possibility of 1 or 2 Z-beds for £30 extra.

Runa Farm – A hotel in the nearby town of Barnard Castle that is owned by the same people that own the Hall. Check out the website here – it looks like the rooms are about £300 per night. You should let them know while booking that you’re going to a wedding at Lartington, there’s been talk of a discount. Please note that although close it isn’t really walking distance and so a taxi is recommended if not driving.

Barnard Castle and Cotherstone – The charming market town of Barnard Castle is a roughly 7 minute drive (2 miles) away with many Bed and Breakfasts able to host at a range of prices. Cotherstone is a smaller village slightly closer (1.5miles) with possible rooms at the Fox and Hounds.

Other towns and cities – Depending on how far you are willing to drive there are many larger towns and cities to the East of Barnard Castle. A roughly 30 minute drive brings you to: Richmond, Darlington, Bishop Auckland where many more lodging alternatives are based. The official party proceedings end at midnigtht but for those staying onsite with the bar stays open until the last person goes to bed – so maybe it’s better to stay a little closer? 😉

We’re very happy that you’re able to come and enjoy this day with us! With the long distances and time off work you’re all taking to come and celebrate with us, we’re not expecting any gifts and do not have a gift registry. If you would like to give something we would of course be very grateful.

Invites have been sent and the RSVP page is officially open! Make sure you let us know that you’re coming by filling out the form. It’s possible that the RSVP page may need to be refreshed once or twice, the questionnaire has been a little temperamental.
The RSVP page is password protected to stop the Russian bots and the Prince of Nigeria replying. Check your invite for the password 😉
